Book Report #2: Suit up!

Hello, everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Today, I’ve read two stories in the Extensive Reading Central and I will pretend to be the main character of the stories.

1. How the Turtle Won the Race

Hi, everyone! Let me introduce myself. My name is Turtle. My creator is Diane. I live in the meadow. One day, I was walking on the road and I heard that the Rabbit is looking for someone that will run against him in a race. After I heard that, I said to the Rabbit “I will race you and I know that I can win”. All other animals were there when the Rabbit laughed at me. Then, the Rabbit said, “Tomorrow when the sun comes up, we will start the race. I will meet you here and I will surely leave you there”. The next day, I went to the meeting place early so I can prepare myself. When I arrived at the meeting place, the Rabbit was not there. Suddenly, there was a little bird come and said to me “The Rabbit said you can start running. He also said that no matter what he is sure that he will be the one winning”. So, I started running. Finally, I finished the race and I became a winner. I don't like when Rabbit laughed at me because I felt that he was mocking me. But there was one part that I like when I won that race.

2. The Dog and the Wolf

Hello, my name is Wolf. My creator is ESL Garden. I live in the forest. One day, I got so hungry because I hadn’t eaten for weeks. Then, I decided to hunt near where the people lived although it was dangerous for me to get close to people. I walked all the way to the farmer's fields. When I arrived I smelled the air and looked across the field for something to eat. Then I heard a strange sound and it came from an animal that looked a lot like me. There was a dog that looked fat. So, I asked the dog “Why am I so hungry when you eat so well?.” Then the dog said “I work for my meals. I chase animals away from the farm. Every evening, my master puts his leftover food into my bowl.” I asked the dog again “Does your master need another worker? I can chase animals, too.” “There is always work to do,” said the dog. “Let’s go ask my master.” When I and the dog went to the farmhouse, for the first time I saw the dog had no fur around his neck. Evidently, his master puts the dog on a rope and when the dog pulls at the rope, it rubs away the fur on the dog’s neck. I was shocked and I looked at the forest. Then, I ran to the forest and said “But the life you live is not your own!” I like the part when I ran back to the forest because I felt free.

I hope you can enjoy it. Thank you.
